Where to go shopping in Rio de Janeiro

One of the questions many may have when visiting the Marvelous City is where to shop. To begin with, no doubt the best places would be in Freiburg and Petropolis. Quality clothes and good price, however, far from the City.
Thus, we will indicate points closer to the tourist area, where people stay because they have interests in tours such as the City Tour.

1 – Center of Rio – Sahara and Uruguaiana

It works as an open-air popular mall.

It has the best prices and there is also the possibility to negotiate the price. The place is quite large and you will find everything, but it is not a safe environment at all. You can spend a lot of time looking for what you want if you are not used to the place.
For those who have available time in Rio, it’s worth it. For those who have little, there are better options.

Getting there: Using the subway, get off at Uruguaiana station.

2 – Copacabana

Fair at Copacabana Beach – In front of the post 4 (or post 5 since at the time of posting, the place is under construction and before the work the fair was there, and may return in the future).
From 6pm to 10pm, everything is at a good price.

There are quality products and others not so much. Just watching to find out. Worth knowing!
Our recommendation is to look at the entire fair and then choose where to buy, as you will often find different prices for the same products.

Santa Clara 33 Street – A 12-story building containing only clothing kiosks (mostly bath). It has good prices and quality.

Rocky Souvenirs – Located on Princesa Isabel Avenue, for souvenirs like keychains, magnets and other things. It has a good price and is open every day until 22hs.

3 – Fair at General Osorio Square in Ipanema

From 6 pm to 10 pm, it is all for a good price and containing quality products and not so much. Worth a stop there!

Similar to Copacabana Beach Fair, we recommend that you first look at the entire fair and then choose where to buy it.

4 – Malls

Malls are expensive, but if you want, we recommend Rio Sul, Barra Shopping and Village Mall (in this being the best and most expensive brands).
