Rio de Janeiro Bike Tour Attractions

Urban Tour – Duration 3 hours
R$300,00 per person.

Cycling in Rio de Janeiro is great and the Urban Tour takes you through the southern part of the city. You will visit several famous places in Rio, but also some of its traditional neighborhoods. We’ll start at Copacabana beach, to experience where most of the residents’ social life takes place.
From there we cycle to Sugarloaf Mountain to see its imposing immensity up close (we will not visit Sugarloaf Mountain itself). The tour also includes a stop at nearby Praia Vermelha, a small oasis of tranquility.
Leaving Praia Vermelha behind, we cycle to the lively neighborhood of Botafogo to glimpse the alleys of Rio. This part of the bike tour will give you a closer look at how real cariocas live when they’re not at the beach. The last part of the trip will take you to Lagoa, the lake of the big city, surrounded by green hillsides and chic neighborhoods.

Panoramic – Duration 4 hours
R$420,00 per person.

The Panoramic Tour is a bike ride through Rio that will take you from Copacabana to the shores of Guanabara Bay, to Lapa and to the historic center of Rio. Taking advantage of the new bike lanes, you can cycle through the lively streets of the iconic Copacabana neighborhood towards Botafogo. There you will pass by the cemetery of Rio’s ‘celebrities’, São João Batista, resting place of several Brazilian presidents, writers, singers, actors and also the renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer.
From there we will cycle to Guanabara Bay, through Flamengo beach, the site of the first European settlement after the discovery of Rio de Janeiro. After Flamengo, the route continues to the historic center of the city, with stops at Cinelândia and Lapa, known for their nightlife and the ‘Passos de Selarón’, 250 steps covered by more than 2000 tiles from different countries.
On the way back, you’ll go through the trails that wind through Flamengo Park, designed by the famous Brazilian landscaper Burle Marx.

Ultimate Rio Tour – Duration 7 hours
R$500,00 per person.

This tour shows the best of Rio de Janeiro in one day. In addition to exploring the popular Zona Sul, famous for the iconic beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, you can cycle through lesser-known but equally fascinating Rio neighborhoods such as Botafogo and Urca.
After getting to know them, you’ll head to the old city center, where you’ll stop in the bohemian neighborhood of Lapa. Historic Cinelândia Square will take you back to Rio’s post-colonial past, while a visit to Jorge Selarón’s psychedelic staircase shows how art can be truly public in this city.
Here you will enjoy a typical Brazilian lunch – included in the tour – at a local restaurant. The last stretch of the bike ride passes through the beautiful lagoon, officially named Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, surrounded by hills covered with lush Atlantic Forest.
Last, but certainly not least, there will be plenty of great views of Rio’s most famous sights, Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer (please note that we will not be visiting these attractions during this tour).

1

Rio de Janeiro Zona Sul Beaches

The beaches of South Zone are the most frequented by tourists who come to Rio! They are easily accessible (Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon) and perfect for those who want to get a tan or play “altinha” in the sand.

2

Aterro do Flamengo

Flamengo Park

Flamengos Park (or Aterro do Flamengo) is an area with more than 1 million squared metres, located in the South Zone of Rio. It is a good area for practicing outdoor sports, with soccer, volleyball, and basketball facilities, skate ramps, bike path, hiking trail, as well as spaces for picnics, etc.

3

Historical Center and Olympic Boulevard

During the tour you will visit the Cinelandia square (where the famous Municipal Theater, the National Library and the Museum of Fine Arts are located) and Praça XV, another very important space in Rio’s history.

4

Museu do Amanhã

Only outside

Two new tourist attractions in the city of Rio. During the bike tour we pass in front of them. In case you want to know them inside, go on our tour “Aquarium + Museum do Amanhã” with transportation and accompanying tourist guide

5

Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas

Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon

Located near the beach of Copacabana and Ipanema, at the feet of Christ the Redeemer, it’s known as the “heart of the southern area of the city of Rio de Janeiro.” It is widely used by locals and visitors to practice outdoor sports as well as being an evening entertainment space with bars and restaurants around.

6

Jardim Botânico

Botanical Garden

Inaugurated in 1808 by Don João VI, the first Botanical Garden was a space used for the construction of an old powder factory and also for acclimatizing oriental plants brought from India such as pepper and cinnamon.

It is currently considered one of the largest botanical research center in Brazil and one of the main tourist attractions in Rio.

7

Mirante do Leblon

Viewpoint of Leblon

In addition to being a very pleasant ride, the Mirador de Leblon has a privileged view of Leblon’s beach and, in the background, Ipanema. Without a doubt, one of the postcards of Rio de Janeiro.
