Types of beaches in Rio de Janeiro
In today’s post, we will talk about characteristics of beaches you will visit in Rio de Janeiro. At first, our idea was to make a list of the best beaches in Rio, but we began to realize that there are several factors that influence this choice. So we chose to categorize first and give our opinion of the best later.
Tip: Our bike ride in Rio de Janeiro is a great choice for those who want to know the beaches of the city in a very fun way. We have a tour in the morning and another in the evening. More info here.
Before we begin, we would like to remind you that the sea is very dynamic, and may have completely different characteristics from those that will be mentioned below for several factors, such as being hung over.
CALM BEACHES

We start with this category knowing that often the person who wants to go to the beach will take their children too and nothing more boring than a child frustrated to want to get in the water and not being able to?
They often have fewer waves due to the physical barriers that hold them before.
Remember that it is always good to keep an eye on the sea, because apparently it can be calm, without breaking waves, but on the other hand, presenting currents.
Examples:
Copacabana Beach at Post 6;
Arpoador Beach;
Red Beach;
ROUGH BEACHES

VERY DIRTY BEACHES

Unfortunately the beaches are increasingly falling into this category, making them little by little unsuitable for swimming. Despite being a 100% negative category, we chose to mention it anyway so that our readers are well informed =]
Examples:
Flamengo Beach;
Botafogo Beach;
We also have 2 tours aimed at leisure at sea. One is Super Ilha (Angra and Ilha Grande) and the other for Buzios. Information here and here. We highly recommend the Super Island. Both are boat rides (first by speedboat and second by schooner) with stops at beautiful spots so people can cool off in the waters. They are wonderful walks!
