Now let’s go to the content of our How to get to Ilha Grande post:

If you are not going to Vila do Abraão, do not board there. There are no regular lines between island communities. Search for a continent line directly to your destination.

HOW TO ARRIVE BY BUS TO BOARDING POINTS
The only way to reach the island is by boat.
Buses only take you to cities or places of embarkation
It is necessary to take a bus from Angra Bus Station to the center, where the boarding is made. There are municipal buses every 5 minutes that make this route.
To Conceição de Jacareí, just take the bus to Angra and get off before, in Conceição, as there is no specific bus line there.
In Mangaratiba, the end point is just in front of the embarkation place.
Remember that if you come from Rio de Janeiro, the buses leave from Rodoviária Novo Rio. To know how to get there, see this post here.
