History of the Arcos da Lapa

Its construction was completed in 1744, to transport water from the source of Rio Carioca to Lg. Carioca, that is, to supply the population.
The Arcos da Lapa, in the center of Rio de Janeiro, is a structure that delights anyone who passes.




It is an ancient aqueduct that has become one of the greatest symbols of the city. A true charm. Arcos is located in a historic and bohemian area, close to bars and nightlife. Previously it was known as the Carioca Aqueduct.
