7 IMPERDIBLE BEACHES IN THE CITY OF RIO DE JANEIRO

Rio de Janeiro is known for being a city with a unique natural beauty and its beaches are recognized all over the world.

In that Post we will limit ourselves to the beaches that are within the region of the City, leaving to speak of those that are outside of that limit, later.

You want to understand the map of Rio de Janeiro a little better, I recommend that post, where we explain each region.

7 – PRAIA DE IPANEMA

A famous beach, where there is space to play volleyball, futevolei among other sports practiced by friends who go to the premises. She is very frequented by tourists and also by the inhabitants of the City. Its beauty ended up inspiring Vinicius de Moraes who composed the song of the Girl of Ipanema. Many sporting events that take place on the premises, plus evening shows as well. Seeing the sunset at Piedra del Arpoador is practically obligatory for those who have not yet done so.

6 – PRAIA DE COPACABANA

How not to start by saying that she is the best known beach in the world? It is in it that the year-end party is celebrated every year, it was the venue for the beach volleyball, water marathon and triathlon competitions at the 2016 Olympic Games … An excellent choice!

5 – PRAIA VERMELHA

This here already begins to abuse =]. Near the Sugar Loaf, one of the main postcards of the City, has a beautiful landscape.

Due to its location, surrounded by the hills of Flora and the city of Babylon, it is usually a very quiet beach without waves. It has that name because the sand is reddish when the sun sets, due to the reflection of sunlight on the red and pink crystals located in its sand.

4 – PRAIA DA BARRA DA TIJUCA

It has a fairly extensive sand track, with the grain of sand well hidden and the sea in general quite hectic, but some people risk entering. Good for surfing and there are even some of the steps of championships that take place on this beach.

3 – PRAINHA AND PRAIA DE GRUMARI

Beaches further away from the tourist area, which causes it to end up becoming a more natural environment and therefore cleaner and empty. They are environmental protection areas and accessible through the track.

2 – PRAIA DO PERIGOSO

A beach surrounded by greenery … you have to do a 40-50 minute walk to get to a beautiful landscape! The sea with that tone in parts pulling pro blue and in others for green. The dispute for the first place was difficult …

1 – PRAIA DO SECRETO

The Secret Beach, it really is a beautiful place! It is a place without the sand track, in reality, a natural pool. Its total extension is very small and for the most part not very deep (but it depends on the height of the sea).

The bad side is that due to its great beauty, it is increasingly popular and became a very crowded place and suffering the consequences for it (mainly with regard to garbage).

None of the beaches mentioned in this publication are on our tours, however, for the beaches outside the city, we have the tours of Angra and Isla Grande, Arraial and Búzios.
