SUNSET IN RIO DE JANEIRO: THE 5 BEST AND HOW TO GET THEM

Sunset in Rio de Janeiro: The 5 Must-Sees and How to Get There
Arpoador:

Arpoador Rock, or just Arpoador is one of the best known places to watch the sunset in Rio de Janeiro.
Located in the south, between the beaches of Devil and Arpoador (on the border of Copacabana and Ipanema neighborhoods), the Arpoador begins to be taken by bathers and tourists from 5 pm to the most anticipated time of day: the sun sets. set in the sea next to Pedra da Gávea and the Dois Irmãos hill (one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the city)! Our bike ride goes through the harpoon, it is worth checking here.
After the sun has set, everyone applauds nature and does not let a Rio tradition that began in the 1960s die.
To go to Arpoador, just walk to post 7 (Arpoador Beach) next to Devil’s Beach and Girl Park of Ipanema. To go by subway, the nearest station is General Osório / Ipanema Station. Those who travel by bus from Leblon have to get off at the last stop in Ipanema (near post 7) and get off at General Osorio Square. Who goes by bus leaving from Centro, Flamengo, Botafogo, Leme or Copacabana, take any bus towards Leblon or São Conrado or Barra da Tijuca.
Mureta da Urca

Urca is a quiet neighborhood in the south of Rio. Despite the intense traffic of visitors on the Sugar Loaf Cable Car, its streets inside the neighborhood are calm and quiet.
Mureta ta Urca is a meeting point for cariocas and visitors looking for a sunset at the feet of Christ the Redeemer.
Going to the wall with friends, having a cold beer (or caipirinha) and trying the delicious pastries of one of the establishments is a typical carioca program, in a relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful landscape around it: Guanabara Bay, beach of Botafogo, Christ the Redeemer and Tijuca Forest. It’s an unforgettable sunset
To get to Urca you can go by subway to Botafogo Station, and from there, take the integration bus to Urca and get off at the beginning of the wall, in front of the military police booth.
For those leaving from Copacabana or Ipanema, it pays to go to Uber (it will leave about the same value, or even cheaper than two subway and bus tickets.
Parque das Ruínas

The Ruins Park is located in Santa Terera, one of Rio de Janeiro’s most picturesque neighborhoods.
With viewpoints to the south of Rio (Guanabara Bay, Marina da Gloria, Flamengo Embankment, Botafogo Cove, Urca and Sugarloaf Mountain), the place mixes the old with the new and promotes cultural performances for the public in general. Our tour to Lapa and Santa Teresa goes through the Ruins Park, check it out here.
Enjoying the sunset from the Ruins Park lookout is something few have the privilege of enjoying.
To get to Ruins Park, you can go by subway to Gloria Station and climb from Uber to the park entrance at Largo do Curvelo.
Another option would be to go by subway to Carioca Station, and take the centenary Santa Teresa cable car over the Arcos da Lapa. Despite being a short ride, the experience is interesting. Value of the cable car: R $ 20,00
Parque da Cidade (Niterói)

Many call Niterói “The Smile City”, as it has a privileged view of the wonderful city. Parque da Cidade has probably the best view of Rio de Janeiro.
To get to the City Park:
The park is in the neighborhood of San Francisco in Niteroi. The climb can be done from the neighborhood of San Francisco or Largo da Batalha. There are no buses that take you there, so you should walk, bike or private vehicle. From above it is possible to see the oceanic region of Niterói, contemplating beaches such as Piratininga, Cambinhas and Itaipú.
Buses 38, 38A and 46, which leave from the Terminal next to Barcas Station in the Center of Niterói, run near Parque da Cidade. To reach the destination, you need to get off at Avenida Presidente Roosevelt, on San Francisco beach, near Goitacazes Street, and walk along it towards the park.
Using the same buses, you can reach Largo da Batalha and climb for a smoother but longer climb. It is a walk of about 3,500 meters along the N. Senhora de Lourdes road, which starts at Bairro do Maceió, in Largo da Batalha itself. When you arrive at Largo da Batalha go towards Maceió, where there is a gas station, unique there, where is the ascent to Macaeió.
