Angra dos Reis or Arraial do Cabo? What is the best option?

That Angra and Arraial are two pieces of paradise, which everyone knows. But many are not sure what trip to do when there is only time and money for one. In this article we will show you what is most interesting in both destinations, to facilitate your choice.

Both destinations are almost the same distance from Rio. The difference is that one is south of the state (Angra) and the other is north of the state (Arraial).

Angra dos Reis

Angra dos Reis is a bay protected by the famous Ilha Grande. Due to the location of Ilha Grande, right next to the bay, the Angra seas are especially calm. Most of the beaches and islands are super quiet, like a pool. It is ideal for diving and being with children. Since it is less dangerous to get into the water.

Arraial do Cabo has SUPER clear and crystalline waters. In addition, its sands are white, which makes many call it the “Brazilian Caribbean.” The Arraial Sea is a bit rougher than Angra, since it is a peninsula, and there are not many protected areas. Despite this, the beauty of the place compensates for any bad weather.

In Arraial we can highlight the famous Blue Grotto. The Blue Cave has a distinctive glow, as it reflects much of the blue waters of most of Arraial. It is a mandatory stop point. Very beautiful!
